Materials Needed:

Table napkin linen
Iron (optional)
Your creativity and enthusiasm!

Step 1: Fold it in Half

Begin by taking a square table napkin and folding it in half to create a rectangular shape.

Step 2: Fold it in Half Again

Next, fold the napkin in half again to form a smaller square. Ensure the folded edges are facing you.

Step 3: Fold Diagonally

Now, fold the napkin diagonally to form a triangle. The folded edges should be met with the flappy edges from the previous fold.

Step 4: Fold the Right and Left Corners Down

Then, while ensuring that both sides are symmetrical, fold the two corners of the triangle down. This should create a kite shape, with a line going down the middle.

Step 5: Fold the Excess Pieces Back

Afterwards, fold the excess bottom pieces back. This will create a tall triangle shape.

Step 6: Fold the Shape in Half

Next, fold the triangle in half. Ensure the side with all the excess flaps is facing upward.

Step 7: Pull Out the Flaps

While holding the base of your fold tightly, pull out the flaps of the napkin. Ensure that each flap is being pulled out at a slightly lower angle, to achieve the Bird of Paradise shape.

Step 8: (Optional) Iron it Down

Lastly, to ensure that the fold is able to hold onto its shape, iron the napkin fold. When ironing, make sure that the fold is flat-side down.
